Dean Allan Stam will speak at the Miller Center American Forum on Wednesday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. The topic of his talk will be his latest book, Why Leaders Fight (Cambridge University Press, 2015). Co-authored with Michael Horowitz and Cali Mortensen Ellis, this book examines 2,400 world leaders and their decision to engage in armed conflicts. Stam’s research focuses on the dynamics of armed conflict between and within states.
The talk is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow his appearance. The Forum will be broadcast on PBS in Virginia on March 27, 2016, and nationally on March 30, 2016.
