Finals Weekend 2016

The University of Virginia's 187th Final Exercises took place on May 21 - 22, 2016, on the Lawn. On Saturday, May 21, the Frank Batten School of Leadership hosted a special Academic Regalia Ceremony at Highland, the historic home of James Monroe.

The University of Virginia’s 187th Final Exercises took place on May 21 – 22, 2016, on the Lawn. On Saturday, May 21, the Frank Batten School of Leadership hosted a special Academic Regalia Ceremony at Highland, the historic home of James Monroe.

Sri Mulyani Indrawati, the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the World Bank, spoke to graduating Batten students about her global experience in public policy. She advised graduating students as they enter their careers to not forget the effects that policymaking has on people. Read the entire speech on the World Bank’s website. After the speech, students and their families enjoyed food and beverages on the scenic grounds of Highland.

Directly follwing the UVA Final Exercises, the Batten School hosted its Scroll Ceremony for graduating undergraduate and graduate students inside of Garrett Hall on Sunday, May 22. Congratulations to the Class of 2016!
